This photo was taken at the beginning of February. We had a light dusting of snow today, but for the most part, winter is coming to an end. 

Easter surprise

On my way to church this morning, I passed by Auke Lake, and had to stop when I saw these three swans. They were so beautiful.

Orcas on cruise to Berner's Bay

Today we took a 4-hour cruise up to Berner's Bay with the Audubon club of Juneau. It was really spectacular. These photos don't do it justice, but we saw bald eagles, gulls, pipers, oystercatchers, loons, ducks, sea stars, harbor seals, sea lions, dall's porpoises, humpback whales, and the hi-light was seeing a pod of 5-6 orcas "play" right by the boat. We are loving life in Alaska. Filed in mammals

Mt Bradley (Mt Jumbo) trail

We went up the Mt. Bradley trail yesterday. Once we got to the bridge and falls, it was too icey on the trail to continue. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
